There's Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park, where you certainly can find the desired tracks, it has numerous tracks, ranging from easy to very difficult. The place is huge (it's a 200-hectare, council-run park in the hills of Karory, west of the city centre) and its main entrance is on South Karori Rd (accessible by bus Nos 12 and 17). For more specific information, you may visit any bike store in Wellington.
