i'd say yes. I went up with the cable car and then wandered around the botanic gardens and enjoyed it. you can see the Lady Norwood Rose Garde, which is nice, there's also the Carter Observatory where you can gaze at the night sky through a telescope, a teahouse and a visitors centre.
