base Backpackers, on 1140 Hinemoa St has an indoor climbing wall where you can go do that for 14 NZ$ with gear and 10 NZ$ without gear (students pay 6 or 10 NZ$). It's open from noon until late Monday to Friday and 10 'till late on Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm on Sunday. They also organize full day climbing trips for about 100 NZ$.
