I recommend you go at Elm Lodge Backpackers, on 74 Elm Row, which is a good place to stay if you feel like looking down on Dunedin and the harbour from a nearby hill top, and if you appreciate cosiness and quick access to a sheltered garden, or so they say. It also does wildlife tours, if it interests you. one more thing: please tell me how it was, if you take my advice...
