The City Cycle Hire (339 4020) delivers the bikes where you're staying and they charge 20 NZ$ for half a day and 30 NZ$ for a full day. Mountain Bike Adventure Company has a nice package for 45 NZ$: you ride up the mountain in the gondola and then you come downhill on the bike.
