In the southern Alps, 121 km east of Greymouth, you'll find Grasmere Lodge, a traditional farmlike-hotel. You can get involved in the cattle and Merino sheep activities or just go fish for trout. Th Grasmere domain is huge, with eight lakes, creeks and streams. If not so sporty, you can just savour your five-course meals with fresh lamb or salmon, which can likely be the morning catch of another guest. There's only 24 rooms at 311$, including dinner and these activities.
