Surfing in Auckland

You should try Piha, Muriwai or Bethells Beach on the west coast (it's less than 50km from the city), where the water is often very rough. I think these places are enjoyable, 'cause most of them have surf clubs and lifegurads. Last time I was in NZ I did skydiving. the experience was great (I skydived from 12 000 ft), but a bit expensive for my pocket (it costed me NZ$250). have you ever tried skydiving?
