The bookshops are your best bet. Auckland Map Centre, on 209 Queen St, is where you'll find lots of maps, Borders, in the Skycity Metro Mall, on 291 Queen St, is where you can get books and music. A very nice one is the Hard to Find But Worth the Effort Second-hand Bookshop, on 81A Victoria Rd, Devonport.
